Since the declaration of a Provincial State of Emergency on July 7, 2017, the Central Coast Regional District Emergency Program has been monitoring the rapidly changing situation surrounding the B.C. wildfires, road closures and travel advisories.

There is currently one active wildfire in the Central Coast Regional District. The fire is in the vicinity of the area known as The Precipice. The CCRD issued an Evacuation Order for residents in the area on Sunday, July 9, 2017. The fire was reported on July 7, 2017 and is currently at 800 hectares. The CCRD is working closely with the various agencies overseeing the state of emergency affecting our region. This includes supporting suppliers coordinating delivery of necessary goods and materials to the regional district and its communities. Contingency plans are being developed in the event the current situation changes or lengthens.
