Rainfall Warning – Coastal Sections October 26, 2020

11:08 AM PDT Monday 26 October 2020
Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Central Coast – coastal sections

Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

A front over the Alaska Panhandle will move onto the north coast of B.C. late this afternoon and reach the central coast tonight. The front will then stall on Tuesday and remain over the area.

Heavy rain is expected to begin tonight and continue into Tuesday night. Rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 mm over inland areas and near 100 mm over coastal areas are forecast by midnight Tuesday.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
