Co-existence with bears and other wildlife is a reality of living in and visiting the Central Coast region. In fact, it is one of the many reasons people love to live in and visit the region.
There are many provincial online resources to help with ensuring that human encounters with bears and other wildlife are safe and respectful, for both the animals and the people. See also WildSafeBC.
If you have an encounter with a bear that seems potentially unsafe for either you or the bear, please immediately call the RAPP line at 1-877-952-RAPP or #7277 on the Telus Mobility network.
