Search and Rescue

The Bella Coola Valley Search and Rescue team was founded in 2005 and consists of 12 members. For more information on the Bella Coola Valley Search and Rescue

If someone is missing, report it to police. If there is immediate concern for a person’s safety, call 9-1-1, otherwise contact the non-emergency number of the police agency where you think the missing person was last seen or your local police (Bella Coola RCMP 250-799-5363).

Search and Rescue in British Columbia is done by volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day year-round. There are three main categories of search and rescue: air, marine, and ground and inland water. For information about agencies involved in coordinating search and rescue efforts, please visit the BC Search and Rescue website https://www.bcsara.com/about/sar-in-bc/.
