The Bella Coola Valley Search and Rescue team was founded in 2005 and consists of 12 members (https://www.bcsara.com/groups/bella-coola-valley-search-and-rescue/).
If someone is missing, report it to police. If there is immediate concern for a person’s safety, call 9-1-1, otherwise contact the non-emergency number of the police agency where you think the missing person was last seen or your local police (Bella Coola RCMP 250-799-5363).
Search and Rescue in British Columbia is done by volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day year-round. There are three main categories of search and rescue: air, marine, and ground and inland water. For information about agencies involved in coordinating search and rescue efforts, please visit the BC Search and Rescue website https://www.bcsara.com/about/sar-in-bc/.
