ENDED – High Streamflow Advisory – Central Coast & North Coast

ISSUED: 8:30 AM November 6, 2020

The River Forecast Centre is ending a High Streamflow Advisory for:

  • Central Coast including Bella Coola River and tributaries, Kingcome River, Owikeeno/Rivers Inlet and surrounding areas
  • North Coast including tributaries around Stewart, Nass Valley, Terrace, Prince Rupert, Kitimat surrounding areas

This week’s storm systems for the Central Coast and North Coast are over. Rainfall totals for this week were lower than last week. River levels rose from the cumulative rainfall but did not reach as high as flows from the previous week.

River levels are receding, and the region is forecast to remain relatively dry through the weekend and into next week.

The public is advised to stay clear of the fast-flowing rivers and potentially unstable riverbanks during the high-streamflow period.

The River Forecast Centre continues to monitor the conditions and will provide updates as conditions warrant.
