What: Pursuant to sections 466 and 469 of the Local Government Act and Central Coast Regional District Public Notice Bylaw No. 537, 2024, notice is given that the rescheduled public hearing regarding Bella Coola Valley Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 565, 2026 will take place at 9:00 am on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The public hearing scheduled for August 6, 2026 did not proceed.

Delegate: The Public Hearing will be held by Chair Kennedy, as delegate of the Central Coast Regional District Board pursuant to section 469 of the Local Government Act. A copy of the Board resolution delegating the hearing to Chair Kennedy will be available for public inspection together with Bylaw No. 565, 2026.
Proposal: To adopt the Bella Coola Valley Official Community Plan as the Official Community Plan for Electoral Areas C, D and E, including its map schedules, and to repeal Bella Coola Valley Official Community Plan Designation Bylaw No. 302, 1998. The proposed bylaw applies to all lands within Electoral Areas C, D and E.
How can I provide comment? Anyone who believes that their interest in property is affected by the proposed bylaw will be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard or to present written submissions respecting matters contained in the proposed bylaw at the Public Hearing.
Written submissions may also be made on this matter. To ensure receipt before the hearing, written submissions should be received by the Regional District office by 8:45 am on Thursday, August 13, 2026. Written submissions may also be presented at the Public Hearing. All written submissions previously received respecting Bylaw No. 565, 2026 will be carried forward and included in the hearing record and do not need to be resubmitted. Copies of the proposed bylaw, the Board delegation resolution and relevant background materials may be inspected on the Central Coast Regional District website during the notice period and at the Regional District office, 626 Cliff Street, Bella Coola, on Tuesday, August 11 through Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. On August 13, the materials will be available before and during the Public Hearing.
