📢 Evacuation Alert Rescinded 📢

As of 4:00 pm, August 15, 2025, the Evacuation Alert for the Hotnarko Lake (C51503) wildfire has been rescinded by the Central Coast Regional District, Ulkatcho Nation and Tŝilhqot’in National Government.

Residents may return to normal activities, but we encourage everyone to remain prepared and stay aware of wildfire conditions in the region.

We thank the public, response crews, and partner agencies for their cooperation and hard work. 🙏

Update August 13, 2025, 5:00 pm 

C51503 – South of Hotnarko - Out of Control – 60.2 hectares

Resources:
40 firefighters 
Helicopters are supporting crew’s objectives
Heavy equipment is supporting crew's objectives

Overview:
This fire is approximately 24 kilometers West South West of Anahim Lake.
The fire is burning in the Precipice Valley and is about 14 kilometers South of Highway 20. The highway is not impacted by this fire. Please follow DriveBC for highway closures.

Response:
Today, crews will work with heavy equipment to build control lines.
This afternoon, Air Tankers returned to support crew efforts on the ground.
Fire is burning at a Rank 2/3 on Wednesday afternoon.
Air tankers and heavy helicopters will be supporting the crew’s objectives to secure the south flank
Structural protection has been installed on three properties.
More resources are coming to the fire today.
The Central Coast Regional District (CCRD) has implemented an Emergency Alert for the Hotnarko Lake wildfire.

We will share further updates as information becomes available from BC Wildfire Service.


Wildfire Update – August 12, 2025 – 5:15 PM

C50503 – Out of Control – 10.0 hectares

Overview:

This wildfire is located approximately 23 km west-southwest of Anahim Lake, in the Precipice Valley, about 14 km south of Highway 20.  Highway 20 is not impacted at this time. Please monitor DriveBC for any updates on road conditions or closures.

Response:

✈ Air tankers and helicopters with buckets are actively working to slow the fire’s growth. 
👩‍🚒 Crews are on site and will begin their work once air tanker operations are complete.
🚜 Heavy equipment is en route to assist containment efforts.

We will share further updates as information becomes available from BC Wildfire Service.


The Central Coast Regional District is aware of a wildfire reported in the Hotnarko area. We are actively monitoring the situation in coordination with provincial agencies.
