General Expenditure Deadlines associated with the Hagensborg Waterworks District Grant

Notice Date

During their November 14, 2019 meeting, the Board of Directors of the CCRD released the following resolution:

THAT the Board of Directors of the Central Coast Regional District directs administration to confirm general expenditure deadlines associated with the Hagensborg Waterworks District Grant and to release that information to the public.

Brian Bedford, Director of Local Government Infrastructure and Engineering of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Government of British Columbia, offers the following clarification on the matter of timelines:

Good Afternoon Ms. Kirk,

We wanted to provide some clarity on the obligations of the recipient as a part of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program: Environmental Quality grant for the Central Coast Regional District’s Hagensborg Community Potable Water Distribution and Treatment project IG0125. We are currently finalizing the shared cost agreement (agreement) and anticipate it will be distributed within the next week. In absence of this being circulated we are providing clarity regarding the requirements for project commencement.

As a part of the agreement the Recipient, Central Coast Regional District, is required to commence the project within one year of the date of the agreement (e.g. construction). Failure to demonstrate that the project has commenced in accordance with the agreement will be examined and may impact the funding status. This requirement is to ensure that priority projects move forward within the timeframe of the funding program.

In the interim if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.  Once you have received the agreement, Lee Johnson, EQ Program Lead (cc’d on this email) is available to discuss any of the clauses within.

Regards,

Brian
